Jersey City police responded to Newark Avenue and Coles St and found the man with serious injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center where he is in critical but stable condition, Suarez said. The vehicle did not remain on the scene, Suarez said.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating, Suarez said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip here.
